I’m ZeeAna, the owner and founder of Calico Creek Tattoo Co. Tattooing has been my passion since I first discovered it at 14. Like many artists, I started out of my home, working my way up until licensed professionals recognized my dedication and gave me the chance to become licensed nearly a decade later. My journey hasn’t been easy. At 19, I became a mother while still in college, with no job skills and a steep uphill climb ahead of me. I fought hard to build the life I have today, and I’m grateful every single day for how far I’ve come. In 2006, I graduated from Wichita State University with a BFA in Studio Arts, and my grandfather’s words “Anything not done right isn’t worth doing” continue to guide me in everything I create. My personal mottos are simple: “You get what you give” and “If not now, when?” I believe life is short, and the universe rewards good energy and genuine intentions. That’s why kindness, gratitude, and authenticity are at the heart of my work. I care less about being remembered for the style of my art and more for how I make people feel. Whether it’s creating something new or covering a tattoo someone has struggled with, I love helping clients see themselves with pride again. My legacy is acceptance, compassion, and the belief that tattoos can heal both inside and out.
